How to answer these tricky questions during interview
- What’s your biggest weakness?
Facts: When employers asked your weakness, they are not really concern on your weakness. They just want to know whether you are aware of your weakness and if you’re intending to make changes.
How to answer: It’s ok to have weakness. Everyone sure has some part need to improve. Tell them honestly about your weakness and show them although you have these problems previously but you finding a way to solve or minimize it.
Example answer: I am not professional in both verbal and written in English but I will improve it by reading more English article.
2. Why do you want to work here?
Facts: Employers want to know whether you done company research before you interview or do you really like to work here.
How to answer: Make sure your answer has real meaning. Relate your answer with the company’s culture, vision, mission and core value. Besides, you also may relate little about the position you apply.
Example answer: I truly feel aligned with the company’s values, mission, and goals. I have strong team work spirit that connected with the core value of your company. I also believe that this position provides enjoyable and fun experience for me.
3. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Facts: Employers don’t want to invest in hiring, training and paying an employee who’s not going to stick around, or who’s going to change career path. Asking this question help them to know whether you will stay in this company for short or long time.
How to answer: You don’t have to tell them absolutely see yourself with the same company. Instead, employers want to hire someone has self-motivated and keep learning. Show the employer that you desire to grow within this field. It’s better to provide few tangible goals to strengthen your answer.
Example answer: I hope to progress to a higher level of responsibilities and expand my skill sets and knowledge in this field. I hope after five years my efforts will carry me closer and closer to becoming an expert at what I do.
4. How do you handle stress?
Facts: Employers want to see whether you are aware of your working style and in which situation you find stress. In addition, they also likely to know how you solve or minimize your stress.
How to answer: Tell them when will you feel stress and provide example of actions you do to solve it. Include evidence of time when you successfully handle stress to support your answer.
Example answer: I find public speaking is stressful to me. Show how you research techniques for confidence and prepared visual aids to assist you in public speaking.
